Nigel has 40 years of international business experience and in 1993 founded his own SME that traded in 15 countries including with public and private sector companies in India. He sold the company in 2006 and moved to Mumbai where he spent over 10 years establishing 2 Indian companies and working with a wide range of international and local companies operating in the Indian market. He returned to the UK in early 2017 and is still very active in the UK India trading relationship, primarily through his leadership of the India Urban Gateway.
Overall responsibility for the planning and delivery of the programme including:
• Leading the delivery of Urban Gateway India objectives, targets, programme schedule and standards
• Recruitment of International businesses onto the Gateway programme
• Strategic advice helping international companies win business in India
• Managing relationships with trade associations and other stakeholders
• Leading the sourcing, qualifying and relationship management with Indian partners
Vimal Bhatt has 10 years of experience in Infrastructure Advisory, Transaction Advisory Services for Urban Infrastructure projects in India. He has led projects on growth strategy, revenue maximization, customer acquisition & value management and cost reduction; and has managed multiple management consulting engagements. He is proficient in preparing Detailed Project Report (DPR) and conducting review of public polices and schemes for service-wide government network and recommend suitable infrastructure development polices. He has successfully prepared feasibility Reports including site appraisal, demand analysis, project concept development, opportunity assessment and Product mix identification. Prior to joining UKIBC, Vimal has worked with companies like Capgemini and Moody’s Corporation.
Yukti Agarwal joined the UK India Business Council in 2014 and has worked as an advisor in the infrastructure, energy and urban development sector. Her role encompasses advisory and strategic guidance to British businesses that are already present/looking at entering the Indian market; client relationship management; strengthening the existing relationship with the British High Commission in India; managing international delegations; forging collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders in the urban infrastructure sector; involvement in infrastructure policy initiatives such as roundtables, policy groups and the JETCO (joint economic and trade committee) working groups. Yukti is an Architect and Urban planner possessing 12 years of experience in the field of architecture, urban design and infrastructure planning. She completed her post-graduation from the University of Sydney in 2010. Prior to joining UKIBC, Yukti has worked with infrastructure consultancies such as Ch2mhill and Parsons Brinckerhoff, wherein she got an opportunity to hone her technical and business skills. Her diverse portfolio includes preparation of city development plans, detailed project reports, sustainable building design and implementation of smart city projects.
Goverdhan has six years of experience in the field of business research, marketing and sales. Prior to joining Urban development Gateway team, He was working in the market entry team of UKIBC, Eli India and HCL Technologies. He has been involved in finding the right opportunities for various sectors such as automotive, industrial goods, healthcare, food, retail and advanced engineering. He completed his graduation in Computer Science Engineering from Rajasthan University in 2011. He has been involved in developing comprehensive plans for sales and marketing. His focus was on implementing programs that consistently generate new, high quality leads for company. His expertise are in the domains of research and marketing techniques for various products and services.
Lavina has almost two years of experience in the field of business research and consulting. She completed her post-graduation in Environment Management and Sustainable Development from Delhi University in 2016. Prior to joining Urban development Gateway team, she was working in the market entry team of UKIBC. She has been involved in preparing various market feasibility reports and go to market strategy for UK companies for various sectors automotive, industrial goods, healthcare and advanced engineering.
