UKIBC conducted a pre-trade mission webinar for the Gateway member companies. The aim of the webinar was to promote awareness about the Indian market landscape and the key requirements to do business in India along with discussing ongoing missions embarked by Ministry of Housing & Urban Development (MoHUA), Government of India towards urban development.
The webinar also provided guidance to UK companies on the mode of entry to India market and key success factors while doing business in India.
The webinar was a success and witnessed good participation from Gateway members and other UK companies who are interested in exploring the Indian market.
Chaired by Nigel Lang (Head of Urban Gateway Program) there were two main speakers Katharina Bouchaar (Consultant, ESC Sustainability) and Vimal Bhatt (Adviser, Urban Gateway Program). Vimal gave on overview of the Indian Urban Landscape and the key to success while doing business in India.
The session followed a Q&A session where both speakers answered varied questions from participants, ranging from market potential, mode of entry, India Urban opportunities, etc.
The objective of the Urban Gateway is to work with DFID and wider HMG and other interested stakeholders to bring financial investors, urban experts and an international supply chain to India to help achieve the goals of the Urban Partnership. This will involve connecting international businesses to the development of India’s cities, so as to enhance the development and prosperity of India
